What do Arson Anthem and the Sex Pistols have in common? Probably nothing……

But with the new ARSON ANTHEM release, Insecurity Notoriety, something occured to me…

Arson Anthem Sex Pistols Connection

Arson Anthem Sex Pistols Connection

On the CD artwork, the cd title and letter cutouts on the band members eyes are reminiscent of the Sex Pistols’ style “ransom” font.  The AA release date is October 12, the same day Sid Vicious was arrested for the murder of his girlfriend Nancy Spungen 32 yrs ago in 1978. She was found dead of a single stab wound in her abdomen on the bathroom floor of their Chelsea Hotel room 100.

Arson Anthem’s drummer, Hank III, is no stranger to the punk music scene. I have seen references to Sid Vicious and the Sex Pistols by Hank III in the past but I do not know how deep his interest is in the subject.

So I ask you: Are the release date and font style both coincidence? Some how I doubt it…

Regardless, the new AA release is stated to be, “A 17 song full length that makes the first ep sound like child’s play!”

ARSON ANTHEM is comprised of metal greats Philip H. Anselmo (Pantera, Down, Superjoint Ritual), Hank Williams III (Superjoint Ritual, Assjack), Mike IX Williams (Outlaw Order, Eyehategod), and Collin Yeo (Ponykiller).

Housecore Records have also announced the upcoming release of the original version of ‘Creepy Crawl’ from the 1995 SUPERJOINT demo. Stay tuned…
