The New Reinstate Hank

Reinstate Hank
Reinstate Hank

As reported in a previous article, Fate of Reinstate, changes to the Reinstate Hank campaign are happening. There is a new look for the website Reinstate Hank and new tshirt designs including one that is available at the III tour merch booth and another awesome design on 3bay (pictured left).

On the other side, the Neltner Creative website has been redone as well. In the store you will find some awesome Hank III and Reinstate Hank prints. There is also an entire Reinstate Hank section.

Keith Neltner speaks of his decades worth of Hank III artwork and his affiliation with the Reinstate Hank Movement in a new article at muzzleofbees.com and there is a new Renistate website in the works at reinstatehankwilliams.com. Judging by the article content, one can assume that Judd Films and Neltner are continuing on the path of making a film themselves, that they have much of the fan art and the petition book. It also mentions briefly the Neltner and Hank III split.

Obviously the roots run deep and strong within the movement so I am looking forward to seeing what develops.

Be sure to get your new Reinstate Hank shirts and continue to spread the word about signing the petition. After all, it’s about respect.

Written and produced by W. Earl Brown (which you may know from the HBO series Deadwood or the classic ’90′s comedy There’s Something About Mary), “Provinces of Night” is a new film in which Hank III will make a small appearance as “Trigger Lipscomb”.

The film is based upon a novel of the same name by William Gay. Provinces of Night: A Novel is set in 1952 and follows the story of E.F. Bloodworth (played by Kris Kristofferson onscreen), a man who has returned to his Tennessee home after 20 years of roaming. Other noted performers who appear in the flick are Val Kilmer, Hilary Duff, and Dwight Yoakam. Click here for the IMDB page

Synopsis
Fleming Bloodworth is alone in the world. His mother abandoned him and his cuckolded father is on a quest for vengeance. He has one uncle who exists at the edge of lunacy, another uncle who escaped for the bright lights of Nashville, and a grandmother who is slipping into dementia. His only true companions are his books and dreams of being a writer then he meets two people who forever transform his world.

Through the reckless adventures of his wild uncle, Fleming encounters Raven Lee Halfacre. The bastard daughter of a prostitute, Ravens life is equally bleak. The teenagers are kindred spirits and for the first time each feels the limitless possibilities of unconditional Love. As if falling head over heels in love were not enough, the following morning Fleming meets the grandfather he has never known.

E.F. Bloodworth left forty years ago and never looked back. His life has been spent chasing whiskey, women, and song. However, the time has come to face the demons of his wanton past. It is only through the relationship that develops between him and his grandson that E.F. has any hope of redemption.

What Fleming does not know is that both Raven and E.F. each harbor dark secrets secrets that can destroy them all. A storm is brewing and Fleming is trapped in its eye. He must weather the darker provinces of night in order to find the hope of a new dawn.

On A Side Note: I had the pleasure of meeting W. Earl Brown at the Roxy last year while at a III show. He is a great guy, very nice.
