About Hank Williams III
Born in December of 1972, Shelton Hank Williams is the son of Hank Jr., and grandson of country music legend Hank Williams.
As very diverse musician, Shelton plays a variety of instruments including guitar, bass and drums, often blending musical styles such as rock, country, punk, hardcore and hard metal. His controversial lyrics mixed with his outlaw country music style (Hellbilly) is infectious.

About Church Of Hank:
COH is a Hank III fan site founded in 2007. It occured to me that Full Throttle Livin’ was a religion for many Hank III’s fans, thus Church Of Hank was developed.
From the Editor:
Many people have asked me, “What’s so special about Hank III”?
My response is this: “Everything.”
I first heard of Hank Williams III when a friend mentioned having tickets to a show in 2002. My response was, “There’s a III?”.
So we went and I was blown away.
:08 was a floundering country bar on Orlando, Florida, a large venue but no more than 150 people turned out for the show, not including the staff. There was an opening band but I couldn’t tell you who it was. While they played, we drank and checked out the vendor booths for a local adult shop called Fairvilla. Then Hank III came onstage and I almost died. What I heard thrilled me to death, a perfect mix of country and rock.
As the music turned to his signature Hellbilly sound, the intimate crowd got a little rowdy. The security guards looked confused to say the least. With a tiny mosh pit forming, they were stern at first, then seemed to enjoy pushing people in and were amused that this was actually happening at a “country” show. He wasn’t the only one. This was the show energy I had been lusting for. A kin to an 80′s hardcore show, I was finally at home.
I had found the savior of music and his name was Shelton Hank Williams, a.k.a. HANK III. It would be 4 years till I was able to see another Hank III show. From 2002-2006 I waited with baited breath for the next CD release, getting my hands on anything Hank III that I could during that time…
My life changed when Hank III’s Straight To Hell was released in 2006. It helped me validate the things I had been feeling and gave me a sense of wanderlust I didn’t know existed within myself. I also had hope for music again.
Since 2006, I have seen over 30 shows having visited many cities around the United States to see Hank III play including Los Angeles, San Fran, New Orleans and many more. In November 2008 I traveled to Nashville for a show and fell in love with the city and people. I made the decision to move and in April 2009 I was a Nashville resident.
I have found the security of joyful livin with this music and with the Hellbilly family. I found the group of people that uplift me spiritually and a music that flows with and carries my spirit. I am thankful everyday to be where I am and have the friends I cherish so much. I am thankful for Hank Williams III and his musical contribution to my life and society. I believe he is an important piece of American music history, a history which is continually being formed, written and rewritten.
